Company Profile

Carolina Employment Business Training Centre is a recognized non-profit organization within Chief Albert Luthuli Local Municipality has seats at CALM Mining Forum & LED Forum, also recognized by the provincial Department of Labour. The organization has been functioning since 2015 after a community uprising which aimed to address issues of employment, skills development and business procurement opportunities in Carolina local mines and was formally registered 2016 March. The organization has since grown and participates in provincial and national mining forums which advocate for mining affected communities. We provide free Wi-Fi, scanning, printing for local residents as we believe ICT has become a need. We run an office which helps local residents get employment, business procurement and skills development opportunities in the area. The organization has widened its scope to everything that pertains community development, we form part of initiatives that seek to solve socio-economic problems Carolina. We run programs that assist mining affected communities which live closely to mining operations. We give information about their rights, environmental effects of mining and ensure mines provide basic services to them.


  • The organisation has managed to secure sustainable relationships with all local mines
  • Runs a functional office at Carolina town assisting community with FREE internet, scanning, emailing, photocopying services.
  • CEBT has a seat at the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality LED & Mining Forum
  • Since 2015 it has placed over 1000 Carolina residents to get jobs in the local mines
  • We run an active database of local businesses a number of businesses have benefitted from procurement opportunities in the mines
  • Got funding for a maths and science program for local schools
  • Secured bursaries and training opportunities for over 100 young people
  • Partnered with Learnme a SETA accredited institution to give learnerships
  • Business ad mining related there has been 60 candidates that have benefitted
  • Partnered with the Vaalbult colliery and Sg coal offered 15 driving license upgrades
  • Achieved getting a site to build the training centre
